My Grandma Marie |

I have three photo albums from my Grandmother Marie. So here is a little of her history and a lot of her pictures. The albums were in my Aunt Dorothy's house. We assume she picked them up
from the family home in Wethersfield with Marie died, or maybe from my grandfather's effects when he passed away. My cousin Jaime's wife Celita got them from Dorothy's house after Dorothy passed away.
Somehow, from there, they ended up with my sister Betty, and I got them from her. There are also notes in them from my cousin Susan. The photos were not mounted in a
strictly chronological order, and that carried through to my scanning.
first album: 1920 including Henry's funeral Summer 1921, Aunt Lottie's kids in New Haven second album: 1923, 1924. West Haven, Tolland 1925, 1926, 1927: Wedding, Dorothy, Niels' funeral, Jane 1928, Albertine's trip to Europe, many baby pictures 1929. Carl's wedding, Portland Maine, Margaret's funeral 1929-1931. Trips to DC and New York, first picture of 111 There is a gap of about 20 years between the second and third albums. I had thought there must be a missing third album between those two. However, it is clear that the album I have was Dorothy's, not her mother's. Also, I realized that the second album has blank pages at the end. So Marie either stopped taking them or stopped putting them in the album. My mom has said several times that it was an extremely difficult marriage. I wonder if she just lost heart. Or she started doing her children's albums instead. I subsequently got four albums from my mother, starting with 1927 (the year of her birth). However, the writing in the captions looks like my mother Jane's, not grandma Marie's. At any rate, I think it will nicely fill the the gaps!
