O
God, who set the blazing stars alight,
The
rolling planets’ courses have ordained;
The
past, the future, all within thy sight:
What
good? What evil? Unleashed or restrained;
This
order, God, is hidden from me here.
My
eyes see light and dark. Not so my heart.
The
simple claim that everything is clear,
But
life is chaos- nothing plays its part.
How
can I tell a blessing from a curse?
How
can I bear the blows of my own King?
His
bad is good; what I call good is worse.
I
can’t judge what this whirlwind will bring.
Will
not the judge of all the earth do right?
Until
we see Him, only faith is sight.
